

Our Story
Omkara School of performing arts is a Canadian based Indian Arts Company founded by twins Delma Renjan and Lidiya Renjan in 2019 with the goal of spreading the culture and knowledge of rich Indian dance forms to the current generation.
Omkara offers training in the Indian classical mainly Bharatanatyam as well as other semi-classical styles, based in Mississauga, Ontario. Currently both are Bharatanatyam diploma and Nattuvangam practitioners.Lidiya and Delma started their training in Bharatanatyam at the age of three and completed ‘Arangetram’ in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam at their early schooling ages from India.During the school and college days, they stepped into the world of choreography and participated in competitions of multiple levels, where they excelled and won numerous prizes and awards for their choreography and performances.Their talent gained national attention with an interview aired on CBC Radio, for their very first dance video uploaded as YouTube initiative, and this opened the doors to great stage opportunities for them in Canada.They have demonstrated a strong dedication to this art form through their astounding variety of performances over the past 24 years.With immense support from communities worldwide for their wide range of choreographies, they have officially opened their first branch of dance initiative in Mississauga, Ontario,named ‘Omkara’.
